How To Have a Productive Online Class {Back To College}

Monday, August 14, 2017

1. Treat Your Class Like A Regular In Person Class
One problem that people forget is just because its an online class doesn't mean it shouldn't be taken as serious as an in person class. It is a class you paid for and it counts towards your GPA. Remember That!

2.Set Up A Class Binder
I always set up a binder dedicated to each class. It doesn't have to be a 3 ring binder, it can also be a folder with pockets. 3 ring binders just work best for me when it comes to organizing.
I Include in my binder
-Class Syllabus
-Assignments
-Print Outs
-Due Dates
-Anything related to the class I try to include in my binder. That way I can always take my binder anywhere and I have my assignments in there, if I need to remember something.

3.Stay Organized
Make sure you have a calendar or planner with assignments due and deadlines. Always stay on top of your work load. The more work you do at the beginning the easier it is towards the end. Its way to hard to play catch up with online classes, so always stay organized and on top of everything.

4.Set Aside Time Everyday
This is such a key component to having a productive online class. SET ASIDE TIME!!! On your lunch break you can work on a paper or whenever you have down time work on something. You can always set days to work on your class work. If you bust out work during the week, the weekend will be for relaxing and partying. Or if its easier for you, do your work on the weekends. Just always set aside time. Online classes were made to be flexible.

5. Log and write [EVERYTHING] With online classes, if things are out of site, they are out of mind. So always remember to write down everything that you may forget later.

6. Don't take online classes if you don't like working from home. I love being in my own space (in my bed) working on papers. I can focus so much easier. If you are not that type of person then online classes with definitely be a struggle for you. Discipline is Essential

I hope you found this super helpful, if there is anything I missed that you do to have a productive online class, let me know in the comments below.  Also if you have any questions about online classes, let me know as well. I'd love to answer them for you.

Happy Back To College

It's My Birthday What I've Learned?

Monday, August 7, 2017

Another year down and I'm so excited to be 25. My birthday was august 4, #leoseason. Its so funny because certain ages you turn, make you excited for your birthday. Don't get me wrong! I'm always always excited for my birthday but this year I was extra excited. (how many time did I just say excited )lol I'm 25 years old wooooo! (saying out loud)  I can literally remember turning 21 and not doing anything for my birthday that year and thinking my life would be in this crazy place at 25 years old. Truth be told I thought I would have kids and be this stay at home mom and live in the suburbs , but life had another plan for me and i'm am pretty happy with where I am today. I am so grateful for everything that I have now, and every positive thing that has happened in my life up to this point.

What I really wanted to talk about was everything that I've learned this year. I have done a post like this in the past ----> link here if you would like to read that one. I feel every year we learn something new and there is always a huge lesson we all have every year so i just wanted to share a few of mine and maybe they are lessons you have learned as well.

1. God Always Comes First
This has honestly been the {Biggest Lesson} I've learned and It keeps me so grounded and thankful. I wouldn't be anything If I didn't have God on my side looking after me. He should always be at the forefront in any decision you make or hard times you are going through. Always seek out God and keep him close to you. I think sometimes, when we are upset in life or disappointed we tend to push everyone out, and God is not one person to push out of your life. He is always here to guide us and help us on this journey of life. So putting God first in my decisions and how I carry myself throughout my life has been one of the biggest and greatest lessons learned!

2. Patience
This one is a hard one, because nothing happens over night. Things take time. We as people take time to develop and become better. They say it takes 21 days to break a habit so nothing is instant gratification. And usually anything that is instant can be taken away just as fast as it was given. I would say its definitely better to be patient and understand the process, and go through the process no matter what it is.

3. Put In Work
I laugh at this one because, Man.. putting in work is not just a saying. It is actual work. When you want something you will do everything to get there. even if its late nights, early mornings. You have to put in that time and quality. When you put work into anything you will always see a result. but if you never put in the work you will  always say "ill never get there" but you never put in the work to see if you will get there. Progress is progress, even if its slow. The more work you put into something the more you will get out of it.

4. Love Yourself Hard
You matter so much!!!! so you always have to look out for yourself. Take care of yourself and just be happy as the person you are. Learn everything you can about yourself. What you like what you dislike. What makes you happy! Discover a hobby or crafts that you like.

Hope you enjoyed this post and Until next time!

How I Style My Bedside Cart

Wednesday, August 2, 2017

Well Hello There!

Hope you all are well and happy! Ive been going back and fourth with how I wanted to style my bedside cart. I always knew I wanted a cart next to my bed, ever since I trolled Pinterest and saw how cute they were. I originally had this cart in my bathroom, then I used it for my desk/craft area and it finally ended up as my beside cart. I have to say I completely love having this. I use it to prop up my laptop or phone when I want to watch Hulu plus. I can roll it over and use it as an eating tray if I wanted to. It's so versatile and on TOP of that it is the cutest!!! color {Turquoise.}

I wanted the top to be easy access so I included some pens and some of MY frequently accessed notebooks. [Little secret] about this notebook on top. It actually came black and white and I penciled in the color, It came out surprisingly good, in my opinion.  I also keep my water here because at night I always always get thirsty. Who else gets super thirsty at night?!

This small wire basket is from target, it was only 3 dollars (in the dollar section) and you can use it to store small things you want next to your bed (chap stick, lotion etc) and this white vase and the faux flowers are from Ikea.

Second row is most of my books, the books that I'm currently reading are in another spot but these are just where I keep them.

Third shelf I added these bright yellow acrylic boxes that I purchased from the container store. They were actually on super clearance and I got them for 6 dollars and they are originally 20 something. I was so happy because I really wanted these every time I went there. (Which was every other weekend)

P.S They are empty. Let me know if you have any suggestions on what I should put in them. I had spare notepads and pens in them before but that just wasn't working for me.

And there it is, my simple bed side cart! I hope you get inspired and share some tips on how you style your cart in the comments below. Happy Organizing and Decorating!

Promoting Self Love and Empowerment #styleselflove

Saturday, July 15, 2017

Heyyyy There!

I decided to write this blog post because this something near and dear to my heart. I want everyone to have love for self and carry it through out their life. I wish I could just sprinkle a magic powder and give everyone that empowerment and encouragement they need. I think It is so important for us as humans to learn everything we can about ourselves and love everything about ourselves. We are all uniquely different and we all bring something special to the table. There is something that you do that no one else does and Its so important to find what that is.

Style self love is not just a trending hashtag but a lifestyle. Self love is something that you carry with you your entire life and its something you help pass on to others. Style meaning what you wear (physically, emotionally, spirituality) and self love. So the hashtag style self love means wearing and showing off your self love.

Having self love is the way that you see yourself. Not the way another person may portray you because not everyone is going to see you for you, and that's okay. Its accepting who you are and how comfortable you feel with yourself.

You have to go to bed with you every night and being happy with who you are is so important and I cant stress that enough. you have to see your value in yourself and portray yourself in the way that you want to.

A quote that I always live by is "You can't love someone else if you don't love yourself first"

As I'm getting older but still young (hitting 25 in a few weeks) This quote has played such a big part in my life. I've seen myself an entirely different person than I am today. I've hurt people, I've had people hurt me and It all plays a part in how you value yourself.

We as women and men should empower each other to do great things, not hold someone else back or cause them hurt because we haven't found why we love ourselves. That plays a really big part in how you live your life and how you handle jobs, and relationships and your overall self.

I want it to always be on the forefront of everyone's mind to promote self love and empowerment. If you see someone doing something great, congratulate them, embrace them, lift another person up.

When it comes to yourself, never hold yourself back from anything. Put in the work. Look at yourself and love your features and hair and eyes and personality. That is the reason why I created the hashtag #styleselflove because I want us All to share ourselves on a platform, and embrace and love each other for who we uniquely are.

We as a people are all so beautiful and creative and special and we need to embrace that more and embrace ourselves. I've seen to many people including myself struggle with self love but I'm here today to promote it and keep it going.

#styleselflove

It's not just a hashtag its a lifestyle for self love

My Summer Time Moisturizers

Hello Summer Time! And hello to any new readers I have out there! Welcome, Welcome! Today I'm talking "Summer Skin Care". I love the summer time, because my skin stays hydrated and glowing, for some strange reason. I'm not complaining about it, I LOVE IT. I do make sure I am always adding moisture into my skin whether its a cream moisturizer or an oil moisturizer . My skin is definitely an oil lover (coconut oil, almond, avocado) any oil. I say its always best to find out what your skin likes. And Yess! that may take some trial and error but its totally worth it and makes shopping much easier and enjoyable.
Most of the products I purchase are fragrance free, because anything that has fragrance as an ingredient is going to break me out in the long run. If the products have to many chemicals it also breaks me out, so I pretty much stick to oils and my basic moisturizers. Let me stop chit chatting and tell you about these products.

I'm going to start with my most recent buys and then go on to my Holy Grails (I guess you can say)

Pixi Overnight Glow Serum

I've been using the pixi glow serum for about a month and a half and I like it. It gives me this hydrated glowing look before I go to bed at night and I wake up, rinse my face and I feel like a new women. It is definitely only a night time serum. I've tried to use it in the day time and I didn't like the way my face looked. I am one of those people that try everything, because I'm curious. I've also tried this serum before wearing makeup and it makes me so flaky and dry. So ONLY ONLY use it as a night time serum and wash your face in the morning. I also don't use it daily, maybe once a week or twice depending on my skin that week.

Murad (Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture Hydrant Intense Hrdro Dynamic)

I stumbled over Murad products when I was watching one of my favorite youtubers and she constantly raved over it and so of course I tried it. Let me tell you! Murad has changed my skin care routine. I'm going to save that for another post but I love Murad skin products. I use the hydrating moisturizer 80 percent of the time. It keeps my acne and breaks out away. Its light weight and keeps me hydrated into the next day. It is on the pricey side if you are on a budget. But I can't get enough of murad product and how they have transformed my skin.

Sweet Almond Oil or Avocado Oil

Like I mentioned before my skin and my hair DRINK UP OIL. My skin loves it and I don't know where I would be without it. I use oil at night and in the day time. I probably use oil for most of my moisturizing. I live in the desert and we have very dry heat, so adding oil to my skin really keeps it hydrated. I don't just use oil on my face, but also my body and nails and hair. It has truly been a life saver. It not only keeps my skin hydrated but also plump and soft. I have normal skin so oil doesn't make me shiny or break me out. My skin literally drinks it all in. If your skin is on the oily side I probably wouldn't recommend oil.

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream

Cetaphil is the first drug store product that cleared up my acne and kept my skin clear. I always keep the body moisturizer handy because it has worked really well for a drug store moisturizer. I definitely don't use it as much as I use to, but I still really like it. I know it says "for body" but I use it on my face only, and I haven't had any issues with it. My favorite thing about it, is it keeps my face soft and hydrated and its fragrance free. And I love that.

Do you guys have any moisturizers you live by, I definitely would like to know. Let me know in the comments and if you want to stay connected Subscribe to my blog and lets be friends!!

Until Next Time XOXO

Maybelline Dream Velvet Product Review

Thursday, June 29, 2017

So I was shopping at target, WHAT'S NEW?And I came across this Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation. I first I thought it was a BB Cream. It definitely has the same consistency. I've been using this foundation daily for the past month, especially for work and I'm in love. I get so many compliments on how smooth my skin looks. Of course I did start a new skin care routine (which I will be sharing later) but this foundation really has made a difference. I mean who doesn't love affordable drug store products, that work, am I right?.

Packaging
The packaging is very simple The product comes in a squeeze bottle, perfect size for traveling or taking with you on the go. It has a twist top which I like because I'm not a fan of flip caps, they tend to break and leak easily in my opinion.

Application
The application is smooth and creamy. I live for products that are easy to put on and blend and gives a nice smooth finish. I usually use a firm stipple brush to apply. I've even used my fingers and I glides on seamlessly. I follow up with rose water because it sets my foundation and keeps my skin hydrated, or use my Maybelline Powder.

Color Selection
They had so many different shades. From very fair to darker skin tones. I ended up getting the number 95 Coconut and it matches my skin perfectly!(which is very rare I might add)

Overall, This has been one of my favorite drug store foundations. I've been using it over a month now and no break outs and It keeps my skin smooth and radiant all day. Let me know if you've tried this foundation and how it works for you.

Here are a few pictures of me with the foundation on

Refreshing Watermelon Drink

Saturday, June 24, 2017

Hey!

Who doesn't love watermelon, I know I do! It's perfect for summer and a family BBQ. Which, there will definitely be a lot of this summer. Its super easy to make and you'll definitely be hooked. Blending watermelon into the perfect drink makes it even better.

Watermelon Drink

Ingredients

Watermelon (Seeded or Seedless)
Sugar
Ice
Lemon
Honey

I start by cutting my watermelon into cubes and adding ice

Then I blend until slightly smooth. Then I add some sugar (You can put however much to you liking) This is also when I add my lemon. Then i blend again until all smooth.

*If you don't like small seeds I suggest straining the watermelon juice separate. I don't mind it so, I left it in.

Honey Sugar Coated Glasses

Tip the rim of the glass into a plate or bowl of honey, next dip it into a plate or bowl of sugar. Your end result will be this delicious, sugar coated glass. The honey add a great taste to the drink.

Next Pour it up, add your sliced lemon and Enjoy!!
