UNDER BATHROOM SINK ORGANIZATION | ON A BUDGET

Wednesday, May 27, 2020

I wanted to organize under my bathroom sink because It was becoming so difficult for me to find anything under there. I recently moved into a new place and every time you move there is those few areas that don't get organized right away and one of them was my bathroom sink.

It's so hard for the bathroom to not be organized since it is the first place you start in the morning, so it should always be clean and well organized. I started to feel so cluttered and stressed so I knew it was time for me to do something.

I went with a very inexpensive budget for this organization project mainly because I wanted to challenge myself to organize on a budget and also I don't want to spend a lot until I know exactly what I want. But this system I set up under the bathroom sink has been working and I loved the way it came out.

I went with these white plastic bins from dollar tree. I liked how they were fairly sturdy and I could add labels to the top of them.

I then added theses 3 clear bins that actually came in a set of 20 on amazon. I've been using the all over the new house to organize various things.

The last thing I found at dollar tree was this shelf riser. I definitely wouldn't put anything super heavy on it but it works nicely for small plastic bins.

When I first started organizing this space I sorted everything to see what categories I needed. I ended up with

  • Hair Tools
  • Hair
  • Face & Dental
This really helped me when it came time to make labels and make sure everything had a place.

EVERY DAY IS A FRESH START

Sunday, May 24, 2020

I recently saw this quote and it really got me to start thinking about life. Every day we wake up is really another chance for us to do better, be better and overall enhance the person we already are. It's so easy to get lost in our every day hustle of life. Whether that's family, children. work life. At the end of the day the only person we truly go to sleep with is ourselves, and every time we wake up it is with ourselves first.

A fresh start can be anything, maybe you had a bad day well guess what today is a new day and that problem or issue was yesterday or in the past. You can handle the issue and then move on. Often times we bring old into our new or we dwell on the old or what could of happen. In all reality when you wake up the next day. That's God giving you a new start to make better decisions and better you life in many ways.

Sometimes we need a realization that we are in control of our lives and our decisions but we also have a guide with us all the time. I have found that waking up every morning feeling thankful that you can see another sunrise or another sunset or that you can still make changes or decisions in your life is the most wonderful thing you can ask for.

So even though at times we all get overwhelmed or frustrated or just down. When you get to open your eyes in the morning and see a new day and a new time that's for you to continue on your path in life and continue to do great things but to also be a better person, a kinder person a more helpful person.

I hope this helps anyone one out there. I know seeing this quote has really made me think about life and how we are all grateful no matter what situation you are in to always start your day with a fresh start and a new perspective.

CAMERA DRAWER ORGANIZATION | ON A BUDGET

Monday, May 18, 2020

Hey Guys! Today I wanted to share with you my camera organization bin. I love opening this drawer and seeing these bright yellow bins. It really just makes me happy! This bins were the perfect size for my drawers and they are also cloth fabric so I know my equipment i not going to get scratched or damaged in these. I've tried small plastic bins and they always make my lenses roll around and my tools just didn't seem secure enough.

On one of my many target runs I found these in the dollar spot when they put out the spring and summer collection. I've had these for about a year or two now but they could always have something similar. These definitely have been my favorite and were only $3 dollars. I will link below some similar items that could also work for this organization project.

MY FIRST TIME ORDERING FROM GROVE COLLABORATIVE | WHAT I GOT

Monday, April 20, 2020

Hey Friends! I hope everyone is doing well. I recently placed an order with Grove Collaborative because I really wanted to try the Caldrea products, that I've heard so many great things about. Once I got to the site I was just overly excited about all the cleaning/household products they have. I am such a cleaning junkie. I can literally walk down the cleaning aisle and get excited about new brooms or sponges, its ridiculous.

Grove collaborative also has a subscription service if you opt in for it and they can send you your products either monthly, every other month or whatever you choose. Its nice to have a box sent to you with your favorites or things to want to try. if you don't  want to have a subscription you can just shop like a normal website.

So I just want to share with you what products I got and my overall experience and what products I love. It was probably the easiest site to manage through. You sign up with your information and go to whatever category your looking to buy, whether that's counter sprays, wipes, laundry, soaps etc. Its all there at the tip of your fingers. I was even able to buy mama earths perineal spray for my after birth, so now I can just add it to my hospital bag and not worry about it. I even got bonus products at the end.

The one plus I loved was that if I spent a certain amount I got some bonus products for free. This is such a great incentive especially if you want to try a new products they have. and to top it off I loved the personalized touch by adding "stay healthy Yaasmeen!" on my box. Very sweet touch.

My favorite products so far have been the Caldrea gilded balsam birch counter spray. It has more of a manly scent to me, but it smells amazing and remind me of a luxury bathroom every time I clean it. I also really like the Grove Collaborative sponges. I'm picky about my sponges because I wasn't them to not shred or look gross after a few uses and I've used these for a week or two now and they have held up nicely and still look and smell normal. Overall I really enjoy all the products and Method and Mrs Meyers never fail when it comes to cleaning products!

HERE'S WHAT I GOT

Caldrea Linen and Room Spray (Sea Salt Neroli)
Caldrea Counter Spray (Gilded Balsam Birch)
Method Daily Shower Cleaner
Earth Mama Organics Perineal Spray
*Mrs Myers Multi Surface Cleaner (Fresh Cut Grass)
*Mrs Meyers Hand Soap (Fresh Cut Grass)
*Mrs Meyers Dish Soap (Fresh Cut Grass)
*Grove Collaborative Glass Spray Bottle +Window Cleaner Concentrate
*Grove Collaborative Scrubber/Sponges.

*These are a few of the perk items I received for free with my order

MY FAVORITE SHOWS TO BINGE WATCH ON HULU |

Monday, April 13, 2020

FIXER UP
This show is so fun to watch if you like home decor and DIY projects. Chip and Joanna Gaines have so many great ideas for these homes in Texas and they always come out amazing. With Chip's funny humor and obsession with #DEMODAY and Joanna's charming personality and great sense of design these two are just a great duo to watch. I am so obsessed with this show.\

THE MINDY PROJECT
This show follows around a young doctor living in New York and all the things she goes through with her career, love life, and family .It is such a feel good show and gives me young sex and the city vibes.

THE GOOD PLACE
This show is so funny but also filled with suspense as these characters try to figure out what has happened to them and where they are. They are constantly running into problems and finding ways to fix them.

SINGLE PARENTS
I came across this show on accident when I was bored one day. I saw the first episode and was forever hooked. Its about the life of these single parents with all different stories that help each other is many ways. It's a funny comedy that will keep you laughing and intrigued.

BABY DADDY
I saw online that Tahj Mowry was going to be in a new show so I just had to see it. Then when i started watching it I couldn't stop. If your looking for a funny comedy this is it. Three roommates are trying to raise on the the roommates babies and it just shows all the things they have to go through with scheduling and still balancing everyday life.

FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL
This is such a drama filled show but also funny. It's based off the movie 4 weddings and a funeral, but I've never seen it. But it definitely has a more up to date modern feel when it comes to the characters. As these old college friends start to hang out again so much drama is a bout to fill their lives.

LIVING SINGLE
Living single is one of those old 90's classics. These girls/ roommates all with different careers are living life in New York city single and ready to mingle. This show goes through their lives and with many funny and typical things we all go through. Definitely one of my favorites that I remember my parents watching when I was younger.

BOBS BURGERS
This show to me is such a typical cartoon with a man who owns a burger shop with a wife and 3 kids. As bob is a struggling restaurant owner is wife is such a funny positive upbeat lady who can't stop singing and the kids are always up to something. The characters are funny in their own way. I really like this show and I'm not a big cartoon person.

GOOD TROUBLE

The most drama filled/ feel good show I've ever watched. This show is about 2 sisters who go off to live on their own with an unexpected living situation. There both very smart girls who just end up having a lot of drama in their life when it comes to their jobs, love life and living arrangement. Every episode is new drama filled with new suspense and it makes you come back for more and more.

BLACKISH
Blackish always gives me that fun family feel whenever I watch it. Dre who is a marketing advertiser and his doctor wife and raising all their children and going through life trying to balance it all. Each character has their own personality and that makes the show even better. A very funny show for the whole family to watch for sure.

HOW TO MAKE TIME FOR YOUR PASSION

Thursday, April 9, 2020

I know most of us work or go to school, so making time for our passions can be a challenge. I often will spend my entire weekend thinking of ideas and taking pictures or retaking pictures etc. But that's the only time I can get in during the week for pictures. I work a full time job and I'm constantly busy with that.

I love spending my weekends being creative! Writing and taking fun pictures (I say fun pictures because I'm no photographer.) is such a fun passion/hobby/ whatever you want to call it.

I do have a few tips that could help you have more time to work on your passion.

1. Make set times during the work work just for you and your passion. That could be during your lunch break, or after work. Just setting aside time throughout the day will help. It can be as small as 30 minute increments but just work on something.

2. Set a weekly goal of the things you want to work on. That way at the beginning of the week you know exactly what things you want to work on.

3. Late nights! Yes i said it, sometimes there isn't enough time in  day so late nights are it. If you have a passion or goal definitely putting in that extra time will eventually pay off.

4. If it fits you financially, get a part time job with flexible hours. It leaves you more time to work on your craft but also allows you the flexibility to work mornings, nights, or weekends.

I MOVED! 10 PACKING TIPS TO A EASIER MOVE

Monday, March 30, 2020

Packing to me is a fun process but can be hectic and stressful. I've moved so many times that I think now I'm 100 times better than before. I use to just stuff things everywhere and then when it was time to unpack it was hard to ind everything and I had nothing in boxes so things would constantly fall out. So I've definitely learned from over the years how to make packing a smooth and fun process.

1. PURGE UNUSED OR UNWANTED ITEMS BEFORE PACKING

One thing is to always go though and get rid of things you haven;t used or things that are old such as  makeup or just those random things around the house that has been sitting. It's a waste when you go to unpack and you have a box full of things you never use, that could be donated or sold to someone in need. I just recently sold my mini fridge because I haven't had a use for it and it was just sitting around collecting dust, but now it has a home and I have some extra money that can go towards my move.

2. PACK MOST THINGS IN A BOX

Packing mostly everything in a box makes moving trips easier and faster. Its easier to rent a dolly and stack boxes and wheel them to the truck then it is to carry multiple bags and bins. You can even find recycled boxes to cut down on cost.

3. USE EXTRA LARGE TRASH BAGS TO PACK CLOTHES

I try to making packing my clothes a simple process. I just take my clothes from the closet, still on the hanger, and put them in a large garbage bag. It kind of works like a DIY garmet bag. It makes unpacking a breeze, just take it out of the bag and hang it up.

4. LABEL LABEL LABEL

Labeling your boxes is essential in this entire process. Anything you put in the box label it. It will save you time and a headache come time to unpack and put everything away. Trust me no one wants to spending time opening every box to find that one thing they packed. We always think we will remember where we put something but most of the time we don't.

5. PACK BREAKABLES IN NEWSPAPER OR WRAPPING PAPER

If I have left over newspaper around I'll use that to make sure my dishes and any fragile items don't get broken. Recently I've been using the wrapping paper from uhaul which works really well also. The last thing you want is to open your box and your glasses are broken.

6. USE ZIPLOCK BAGGIES TO PACK SMALL ITEMS

When I have small items like thumb tacks, paper clips, small beauty items. I like to use different size ziplock bags to pack them in and them I can add them to larger box. I've found that this works the best for packing those small items.

7.MOVE ELECTRONICS IN YOUR CAR (IF POSSIBLE)

I get nervous when it comes to my tv. I don't want anything to happen to it. So when I move I usually out my tv in the car to avoid any damage to it. But if your moving and that's not possible, I suggest getting bubble wrap and making sure it is securely snugged.

8.HAVE FAMILY AND FRIENDS HELP YOU MOVE
If you cant afford or don't want movers. Have some family or friends come over and help you. You can even treat them to pizza and wings when your finished!

9.TAKE YOUR TIME WHILE PACKING
If you have the time, use it. Pack a little everyday and don't rush it.

10. STAY ORGANIZED AND ON TOP OF EVERYTHING
If you have movers make sure they know where to put things. Have a checklist of which boxes go where. You can even add color coded stickers on the boxes (one color for each room) to make it easier. Make sure you keep track of gas, mileage or any other expenses you may have while moving.

5 THINGS I'VE EXPERIENCED IN PREGNANCY SO FAR

Monday, March 23, 2020

If you follow me on instagram. You know I announced my pregnancy finally Yay!. I really have enjoyed keeping it to myself. I think somethings are nice to just enjoy and have it be our little secret. So I'm finally happy to share it with everyone else and talk about. Man has pregnancy been a little journey. I literally thought I would be and feel the same and just get a baby bump. There's a few things you experience that you just don't expect to so I'm here to share them with you.

Firs things first omg I was so emotional, probably abut everything and kind of still am lets be honest. I remember crying because I really wanted the last bit of some food and someone ate it and I felt like everything was over. I was so emotional about it, ow that I think about it, its hilarious but definitely not at the time. I now only a few months away and I do feel like my emotions has calmed down a little.

I've always heard about morning sickness but thankfully I didn't have that I just didn't have an appetite at all. Like I was just not hungry ever. I actually ended up losing weight at the beginning of my pregnancy because I just wasn't ever hungry. I would literally go out and buy a whole salad and take two bites and just be done. I hated food. But I'm back to normal but It did take some time. I was snacking bite by bite through out the day because the thought of a full meal was just disgusting.

I literally had no energy. I was so tired all the time. I've kind of read about this one but I didn't expect it to hit me like it did. Everyday after work I wanted to just come home and lay down. I was so tired. And now being past half way I'm still a little tired so I've recently cut back my hours at work because I'm to exhausted.

I never knew the growing process would be so uncomfortable at times. The stretching, pulling feeling down there is not fun and It caught me by surprise. I'm not itchy or anything like that (I make sure my stomach is moisturized at all times) but every few weeks I can feel my stomach stretching and ouch is all I will say.

Last but certainly not least my entire mindset has changed. I feel like every decision I make is for my baby. It's such a selfless feeling and I just couldn't picture myself this way. So that has definitely been a change but a good change overall

I hope you all have enjoyed 5 things I've experienced in my pregnancy so far. Maybe this will help you or maybe your going through it also. Leave me a comment and let me know any of your experiences. until next time xoxo
