I MOVED! 10 PACKING TIPS TO A SMOOTH MOVE

Monday, March 30, 2020

Packing to me is a fun process but can be hectic and stressful. I've moved so many times that I think now I'm 100 times better than before. I use to just stuff things everywhere and then when it was time to unpack it was hard to ind everything and I had nothing in boxes so things would constantly fall out. So I've definitely learned from over the years how to make packing a smooth and fun process.

1. PURGE UNUSED OR UNWANTED ITEMS BEFORE PACKING

One thing is to always go though and get rid of things you haven;t used or things that are old such as  makeup or just those random things around the house that has been sitting. It's a waste when you go to unpack and you have a box full of things you never use, that could be donated or sold to someone in need. I just recently sold my mini fridge because I haven't had a use for it and it was just sitting around collecting dust, but now it has a home and I have some extra money that can go towards my move.

2. PACK MOST THINGS IN A BOX

Packing mostly everything in a box makes moving trips easier and faster. Its easier to rent a dolly and stack boxes and wheel them to the truck then it is to carry multiple bags and bins. You can even find recycled boxes to cut down on cost.

3. USE EXTRA LARGE TRASH BAGS TO PACK CLOTHES

I try to making packing my clothes a simple process. I just take my clothes from the closet, still on the hanger, and put them in a large garbage bag. It kind of works like a DIY garmet bag. It makes unpacking a breeze, just take it out of the bag and hang it up.

4. LABEL LABEL LABEL

Labeling your boxes is essential in this entire process. Anything you put in the box label it. It will save you time and a headache come time to unpack and put everything away. Trust me no one wants to spending time opening every box to find that one thing they packed. We always think we will remember where we put something but most of the time we don't.

5. PACK BREAKABLES IN NEWSPAPER OR WRAPPING PAPER

If I have left over newspaper around I'll use that to make sure my dishes and any fragile items don't get broken. Recently I've been using the wrapping paper from uhaul which works really well also. The last thing you want is to open your box and your glasses are broken.

6. USE ZIPLOCK BAGGIES TO PACK SMALL ITEMS

When I have small items like thumb tacks, paper clips, small beauty items. I like to use different size ziplock bags to pack them in and them I can add them to larger box. I've found that this works the best for packing those small items.

7.MOVE ELECTRONICS IN YOUR CAR (IF POSSIBLE)

I get nervous when it comes to my tv. I don't want anything to happen to it. So when I move I usually out my tv in the car to avoid any damage to it. But if your moving and that's not possible, I suggest getting bubble wrap and making sure it is securely snugged.

8.HAVE FAMILY AND FRIENDS HELP YOU MOVE
If you cant afford or don't want movers. Have some family or friends come over and help you. You can even treat them to pizza and wings when your finished!

9.TAKE YOUR TIME WHILE PACKING
If you have the time, use it. Pack a little everyday and don't rush it.

10. STAY ORGANIZED AND ON TOP OF EVERYTHING
If you have movers make sure they know where to put things. Have a checklist of which boxes go where. You can even add color coded stickers on the boxes (one color for each room) to make it easier. Make sure you keep track of gas, mileage or any other expenses you may have while moving.

5 THINGS I'VE EXPERIENCED IN PREGNANCY SO FAR

Monday, March 23, 2020

If you follow me on instagram. You know I announced my pregnancy finally Yay!. I really have enjoyed keeping it to myself. I think somethings are nice to just enjoy and have it be our little secret. So I'm finally happy to share it with everyone else and talk about. Man has pregnancy been a little journey. I literally thought I would be and feel the same and just get a baby bump. There's a few things you experience that you just don't expect to so I'm here to share them with you.

Firs things first omg I was so emotional, probably abut everything and kind of still am lets be honest. I remember crying because I really wanted the last bit of some food and someone ate it and I felt like everything was over. I was so emotional about it, ow that I think about it, its hilarious but definitely not at the time. I now only a few months away and I do feel like my emotions has calmed down a little.

I've always heard about morning sickness but thankfully I didn't have that I just didn't have an appetite at all. Like I was just not hungry ever. I actually ended up losing weight at the beginning of my pregnancy because I just wasn't ever hungry. I would literally go out and buy a whole salad and take two bites and just be done. I hated food. But I'm back to normal but It did take some time. I was snacking bite by bite through out the day because the thought of a full meal was just disgusting.

I literally had no energy. I was so tired all the time. I've kind of read about this one but I didn't expect it to hit me like it did. Everyday after work I wanted to just come home and lay down. I was so tired. And now being past half way I'm still a little tired so I've recently cut back my hours at work because I'm to exhausted.

I never knew the growing process would be so uncomfortable at times. The stretching, pulling feeling down there is not fun and It caught me by surprise. I'm not itchy or anything like that (I make sure my stomach is moisturized at all times) but every few weeks I can feel my stomach stretching and ouch is all I will say.

Last but certainly not least my entire mindset has changed. I feel like every decision I make is for my baby. It's such a selfless feeling and I just couldn't picture myself this way. So that has definitely been a change but a good change overall

I hope you all have enjoyed 5 things I've experienced in my pregnancy so far. Maybe this will help you or maybe your going through it also. Leave me a comment and let me know any of your experiences. until next time xoxo

HOW I SHOP FOR JEANS | JEAN STYLE

Wednesday, March 4, 2020

Finding your jean match can be hard. TRUST ME! I have tried on so many jeans, from so many brands and not one pair fits the same. I've found jeans I liked from jcpenny, levi, target, fashion nova etc. When it comes to finding jeans that fit you, you have to first know your body type and what parts look flattering to you. Then when you go in the store or shopping, you know exactly what jeans not to go for.

LEG STYLE

I know for me because I have hips and curves, but also have larger thighs than my waist. I don't look good in wide leg jeans or anything with a flappy bottom. So right away when I go in a store I go to the slim fit section for jeans. I like my jeans tailored at the bottom or snug.

HIPS AND CURVE (CROTCH AREA)

One thing I noticed is that jeans that are usually my size tend to have a large waist size so It makes my crotch area and stomach not flattering. So I have to be careful with the cut of the jeans and making sure they have a more stretch material so that it hugs my waist and other areas and doesn't make me look bulgy in the wrong areas.

THE JEAN WASH

Another way to determine your style is do you like dark wash or light wash. I like dark wash over anything else. Dark wash for me adds a more slimming look when I don't want my thighs to look larger and light wash jeans give me a more larger look. When I do buy lighter wash jeans the cut has to cut my curves nicely in order to look appealing. I do have these boyfriend cut light wash jeans with a few holes in them that I don't mind wearing because I like the look. So again find what looks good on your body and with certain styles

I always say shop around and always try on different jean brands because you never know what fits you and what looks not so good

DESK DRAWER ORGANIZATION | MICHAEL'S STORE

Sunday, March 1, 2020

One thing I enjoy more than anything is having an organized space and also organizing a space. I decided to revamp my office drawers with more clear organizers. I went on a little hunt for some affordable acrylic drawer organizers, but then I came across these clear organizers, and I had to get them. I have these same organizers in pink and also turquoise they are from michaels and they work amazing! They recently came out with clear organizers and I bought every single one in the aisle, honestly. I was so excited to get my hands on these. They are so affordable and I even had a 20 percent discount which made it even better.

In my current office I use the ikea drawers and they have held up nicely for years. They fit these michaels organizers perfectly, like if they were made for them.

I'll take you on a tour of how I organized my drawers and what things I keep inside of them.

I try to keep items I'm going to use often at the top and the least often items closer to the bottom. I use to label every section, but I like having the option to always move any drawer anywhere I may need it, without relabeling them.

I think my favorite drawer is my pens and also my labeling drawer. The pens just line up so nicely in the drawer organizers. I love seeing the different colors and they all look so uniform, I just love it.

I also love the labeling drawer because my label maker fits nice and snug inside and I can keep extra label paper in the same drawer. My got my label maker off of amazon, It's my favorite one and it has so many different labels you can get with it. Its so convenient that everything can fit together in this drawer.

I hope you guys enjoyed this little organization and I'm hoping for more organization in the near future so be on the look for that.

 Until next time xoxo
