How To Organize Your Accessories | Shades, Jewelry

Friday, August 17, 2018

It's the little things that make organizing so fulfilling. Like taking a small tray and adding sunglasses! It's simple and you can see all your wonderful shades on display. If there is a way to mix organization with aesthetics I'm all for it. I found this small tray at target in the bathroom section. It actually came as a set with small bins on top of it. But I separated them and just used the tray.
Having my items on display helps me keep things at a minimum, and only keep the things I need and love. There is nothing wrong with having more, but the question is do I need more.

It goes to show you can take anything and turn it into an organization piece. Now for my jewelry I think I've talked about this before, but its a cute box system from the container store. Its heavy duty and acrylic. You can also add different levels or compartments to it. I'm fine with just my simple organizer/jewelry holder. (for now) I can't stay away from the container store.

Turning 26 | I'm Not Sure What I Want In Life

Tuesday, July 31, 2018

This is the first time in my life that I can honestly say I don't know what I want. I am always the type of person to write down all of my goals and over time accomplish them. That's my motto, set a goal and achieve it. When I decided to get braces, when I decided I wanted a certain career with a certain job title. Those are all things I had planned for so long.

Usually around my birthday I have a lit of goals I'm working on and I don't have one. It seems like I'm just stuck. I'm not exactly set on what I want in life. It's crazy to think I'm turning 26, to some that might not be a big deal, but to me it is.

I am very happy and excited for my birthday but not like years in the past. This just feels different like another day is going to happen. Is that how it feels when you get older. I hope not because this is just such a weird thing for me.

I've tried multiple times of reading different books and trying to sit down and create a goal list but nothing comes to mind. I may think of a few and then 5 minutes later throw the paper out.

So with all that being said. I don't know what I want in life right now. There's nothing that is making me excited or happy. On top of all of that, I don't know what I want to do about blogging.

Blogging to me was always a fun hobby I did on the weekends. Finding fun recipes and doing simple lifestyle post made me so happy and fulfilled. But as of now I'm just not satisfied with my content or blogging in general. I love it don't get me wrong. I just don't know what to write about or what people are interested in and It's just a constant battle with what do I want to do.

If anyone is going through the same thing, maybe you have some tips on feeling revived again. For now I will just be taking a break and trying to figure out what it is that I want. Then maybe that will get some creative juices flowing.

My Love/Hate Relationship With Technology

Friday, July 27, 2018

I was recently asked the question will I be upgrading my phone. And my first response was NO! before I could even think about it the answer was no. That question had me thinking of all the reasons I love technology and also why I hate it. I use my I Phone for normal everyday phone use. Work calls, personal call (Mostly texts because I'm not a fan of phone conversations) Social media and emails.

I have a love/ hate relationship with technology because I know of all the good it does and how convenient it is. I can transfer money between accounts on bank apps. I can quickly respond to emails and have 24/7 access to people, friends etc. Social media in itself can be full time job for some people. Technology has come so far and has advanced so much, it's hard not to love it and be around it all the time. It has become a permanent part in our lives. Checking your phone when you wake up before checking on your family is a normal in our society. And I'm not counting myself out of it. Just and observation.

But on the opposite side It is so impersonal. I just notice the lack of real life communication because of technology. Everything is so online based and we have access to peoples personal lives 24/7 and I don't think that's healthy.

A personal life should be just that personal. If you choose to have a blog and share parts of your home, life, etc then that's Great! I'm all for it, but seeing all the gossip blogs and just junk is just ridiculous.

I love social media and all the wonders of technology but I do miss the personal relationships and skills that were developed without it.

Surviving The Blazing Summer | Arizona Summer Guide

Tuesday, July 10, 2018

Summer time is here and ready to stay. Summers in Arizona can be harsh, with the dry air the the constant beaming sun and lets not forget the 100 degree weather. I've lived in Arizona my entire life so I'm use to preparing for the summer. I actually remember buying summer clothes and flip flops and pool supplies and being just super excited as a child when summer came around. Summer meant no school and swimming all day, but as an adult there's so many things you have to prepare for yourself. So here's a guide to surviving summer! Hope you enjoy

Everyday Tips

-Overcast Days Are Still Hot Sometime we think that because the clouds are over the city, that means you can walk around bare foot and just relax outside. Wrong! The heat in Arizona is so hot that even on a cloudy day you can still get blisters and burn your feet. If the sun was 115 one day and overcast the next, the ground is still hot so be careful.

-Wear Breathable Clothing Cotton and breathable clothing can help with not overheating in the summer. Summer dresses and light linen cloths are comfortable and prefect for the summer. I've been in the dress mood lately and they are

-Stainless Steel Water Bottle w/ Ice Water is an essential part of living but definitely an essential part of the summer. Drink as much water as you can, your body will love you for it. I like using a stainless steel water bottle and adding ice t help it stay colder long and I can always add more water and the ice will still be there. So drink up! Takeya Stainless Steel Water Bottle

-Baby Wipes On those long days when your out and shopping, or at the park. Baby wipes help give your skin a refresh after you have been sweating all day. I don't like feeling sticky after I sweat so keeping a good bag of baby wipes keeps you clean and refreshed.

-A Fan (Big Or Small) Fans in a hot place like Arizona are much needed, whether they are a small desk fan or a large ceiling fan. They even have little phone fans that attached to your iPhone, how cool is that! I can bring this little fan with me everywhere.

-Protect those sweat stains with a Panty Liner If your prone to sweat stains under your arm pits, opt for placing a panty liner in your arm pits with the cotton side facing your arm pit to soak up the sweat and they sticky side on your shirt. This will help eliminate those embarrassing sweat stains that always happen. Especially when you love and wear gray.

-Water Proof Mascara No one likes running mascara or if your start sweating and wipe your face you mascara starts to smear. A good water proof mascara give you the pretty awake eyelashes you want without the running black makeup

-Cold Rose Water Spray I like to place all natural rose water in the fridge and use it on my face before I leave the house. Its refreshing and also good for your skin. You can use it in a spray bottle or just a regular face pad. I prefer using a small spray bottle.

July Goal + Ongoing Change | No Meat | Plant Based

Saturday, June 30, 2018

I'm doing it guys! I'M GOING PLANT BASED!! A few months ago I started my lifestyle change with food and I was doing great, and somewhere down the line I fell off. I started eating burgers and chicken again and I've gained so much weight. But that's all changing because I doing it all the way through this time. For the entire month of July I going plant based. They say it takes 21 days to break a habit, so if I can get through 21 days I'm sure I can carry this out for hopefully the rest of my life.

Why Am I going plant based?

I have been so stuffy and just draggy ever since I stopped eating plant based. I want to have energy again and I want to see this weigh drop off. I don't think meat is bad I just think it works well with others and for me it doesn't. There are so many other foods that contain protein and nutrients meat gives you and I'm so excited to share them

My mother has been a vegetarian for over 20 years now and has so much experience with vegetarian dishes and foods and what can keep your body healthy and strong.

I am so excited for this journey in my life and I can't wait to take you all along with me. I'm still eating butter, cheese eggs, milk because I think they are an essential part of growing and sustaining your body.

June Ipsy Glam Bag & Review

Tuesday, June 26, 2018

This is my second time getting my Ipsy glam bag I also got the may package and really liked it, so when I received the second I thought I should do an honest review of how I like it. I think if you like getting small products to try before committing to a large purchase then this is right for you. I like that the items are small, so they can travel with me and also it gives me enough time to decide if I like it. I've enjoyed not having to buy a new mascara since ordering my ipsy glam bag because I received one in my may issue.

I am no, Beauty Blogger but I love skin care and cute lip colors and anything in between. I always thought the ipsy glam bag was only for makeup artist or girls who wear make up often. Come to find out I was totally wrong. When I went on their website, your bag is custom to the things you like. If you prefer skin care, masks, lip colors, skin tone etc. I was in total shock, how cool is that. My favorite part is everything is small and can travel with you everywhere, which comes in handy. And the best part if you like it, you can always purchase a full size product. Test before you commit to any product is always the best idea first.

KENSIE SPRAY

The first thing I got was this cute little perfume, that smells amazing! I always get worried with scents because you never know what it will smell like on you but I really liked it and it travels in my purse with me everywhere. Lets be honest you never know when you might need a little refreshing.

GROVE MINT AND ARGAN LIP BALM
I love a good hydrating lip balm especially one that smells like mint. This lip balm is very soft and the scent is very light.

PRETTY WOMAN NAIL POLISH #27
I'm not always a big fan of nail polish, but I have to say this color is so pretty! You guys know I love my neutrals so I was very happy when I saw they sent this to me.

KALEIDO COSMETICS SKIN BLUSH (PROM QUEEN)
When It comes to blush I can be a little picky because whatever I use on my skin I want it to look the best and natural. I tried this blush on and it was very light and reminded me of a highlighter. Probably great for a summer glow look. The one thing I do love is this blush is vegan and gluten free!

MAC LIP GLASS LIP GLOSS
This is actually my first mac product ever! crazy right, or maybe not. I've just never tried mac products in general. This is a pretty lip gloss over a nice lip stick with maybe a little eye liner. I'm such a simple girl that plain gloss or chap stick works for me. Definitely on a night/day out this would be a nice lip bonus.

If your more curious about ipsy check out their website link and maybe try it for a month. Enjoy!

My Minimalist Journey/ Am I A Minimalist?

Saturday, June 16, 2018

Hello everyone! I hope your all doing well. I wanted to start off by talking about how I found out what minimalism is. and then go a little more into do I consider myself a minimalist?

I was searching on google and Pinterest and Youtube looking for white simple room ideas. I was definitely looking for a change visual wise. I felt I had pointless things in my space that just accumulated over time. I was already into organizing and de-cluttering so when I was searching I wanted simplicity.

I came across a Youtube video by Matt D'Avella who is the director of the documentary minimalism. I watched the minimalist film maker video and just wanted to learn more, so of course I watched the minimalist documentary on Netflix and I was shocked.

I guess I never realized how much we just waste, whether it's time, money, objects, products etc. We just waste a lot. After the documentary I started looking up more people and learning more in general about our space and health and environment. So for the past year I have been working on my life and figuring out the important things and cleaning out my space and trying to (emphasis on trying) to limit the things I buy to things I need or love.

I wouldn't say...

I'm not a minimalist, because I consider myself one. I think there are so many ways you can be a minimalist it's not just about the space you create around you, but also about what you are eating and thinking and how you live your life. Me liking and creating a simple space and choosing a more simple clothing style that's just my personal preference. I still love and always wear stripes and flowers because it's my life and there is no set way to live it.

My space

Is my sanctuary, and It's very important to me.My space is where I wake up and rest and read and live. I've incorporated real living plants that create oxygen and clean out the air and white walls because they symbolize purity and happiness for me. I am slowly coming into more of an understanding of everything around me and how it affects me but also the world around me.

I am so excited to share more of my life and space with you and have you come on this fun journey of life with me.

Create Your Own Keepsake Box! - reupload

Monday, January 15, 2018

Does anyone have a keepsake box? I do, and I love it. I keep all of my important things in there, that I want to remember. From small gifts from my past students (FYI: I use to be a preschool teacher) To thank you notes and just random knick knacks. I wanted to share with you how I organize my keepsake box and help you create your own if you don't have one.
A box that has a few of your favorite sentimental pieces is a great alternative than to having a garage or closet filled with just random achievements. I find that if you sort through and really look at what you have you'll find that most of those keepsakes you don't need.

Even though I keep letters or thank you notes, I often go through them when I receive a new one. Memories are important to all of us, but its also important to remember not every single memory can be saved in a box. and remember you always have the memory in your head. But saving those really important memories or something you want to pass down to your children is something worth saving.

I use this really cute and simple box from The Container Store. They come in many different sizes and they fit a nice amount of stuff. Of course knowing me, I went for the white option, because I just love the look of the white boxes. Its very crisp and clean, but they also have other colors as well.

School Projects and Report Cards Are Important To Me, So I Have A few of My Elementary School Booklets/Projects And Report Cards

More things in my keepsake box...
-Bead bracelets from my former students
-Cards and letters from parents, families and my students
-Id badges/plane tickets from important events

A keepsake box is sentimental to you, so gather things in there that are unique to your life and the memories you want to keep and look back on

Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you have a keepsake box and what things you put in there!
